From October 11th to 14th, the grand event brings together world ranked international riders and China's top outstanding show jumping riders who have made great achievements in the global arena. It is expected to have nearly 300 national and international starters, competing for a total prize of 2.03 million RMB from seven classes of competition, including U14 Rising Star Class (80CM), Amateur Open Class (100CM), Dashing Challenge Class (115CM), Team Championship (125CM), BMW Elite Class (135CM), Longines Grand Prix (150CM),and BMW Drive & Jump Competition.

Young Chinese riders demonstrated their potentials at Bird’s Nest
Since its establishment in 2011 at Bird’s Nest, Longines Equestrian Beijing Masters has attracted more than 1500 starters to join the competition. And among the more than 300 starters participating in this year’s Masters, 44% of them were born after 2000. In order to create a high level equestrian platform for these emerging talented young riders to improve their skills and to gain competition experiences, Longines Equestrian Beijing Masters has newly opened the 100CM Amateur Open Class this year, and elevated the barrier height of Dashing Challenge Class from 110CM to 115CM. With U14 Rising Star Class, a competition designed for the most excellent teenage riders, Longines Equestrian Beijing Masters is expanding itself by developing competitions of various levels, so that more young Chinese riders could have more opportunities to exchange their skills and ideas with top international riders.
The “Road to the Bird’s Nest” competition has officially become the qualification competition for the Longines Equestrian Beijing Masters in 2019. 115 riders entered the Masters this year through this channel of five levels of competitions. “Road to the Bird’s Nest” has attracted more than 3300 starters in recent three years. During the competition, hundreds and thousands of young riders practiced and competed for the chance to enter the Bird’s Nest Masters. Their persistence and hard work contributed to the new Chinese equestrian forces. Their appearance at Bird’s Nest is the prove of the nine years’ persistence and passion put into the Longines Equestrian Beijng Masters.
The teenage riders are jumping over the fences as the mature professional riders do. Such equestrian enthusiasts were drawn to this sport and started their journey by its traditional chivalry spirit. In the afternoon of October 13th, Longines Elegance Ambassador Zhao Liying along with Lin Yanjun, Xu Kaicheng, Bi Wenjun and Huang Shengchi entered Equine Park and enjoyed a relaxing and elegant afternoon with all equestrian enthusiasts next to the traditional romantic carousel. Different from the BMW Drive & Jump Competition from the last years, the one this year is interpreted by a BMW trainer. Compared to the equestrian commentators, a BMW trainer is more professional in expressing the specialties of the vehicle and more passionate about driving experiences. Such change contributed to one of the highlights of this year’s Masters.
